ROLE
Project Overview
In this project, I redesigned key interface moments within Among Us to promote better data transparency and user trust. Because the game appeals to a wide range of ages, I focused on making privacy information simpler, clearer, and more accessible.
This project demonstrates how UX design can improve digital safety by helping users understand and manage their personal data, all without interrupting gameplay or taking away from the experience Among Us is loved for.
Tools Used

The Challenge
Among Us collects player data, but current privacy information is easy to skip or hard to understand because of how much information is presented. The challenge was to communicate this information clearly and give players more control without disrupting the game’s fun experience.
The Solution
I introduced friendly, in-game UI elements that explain what data is collected and why, using simple language, icons, and clear toggles for player control. The redesign keeps the playful style of Among Us while supporting better data awareness and safer interactions for users of all ages.

Opportunities
Opportunities for ways to bring transparency.

Testing
For each idea, I used the Hot Air Balloon Method to compare the pros and cons. From my findings, the walkthrough guide is the best option because it is interactive, helps users understand their data, and makes learning fun.

Paper Prototype Test
I created a paper prototype to test how players would interact with the new data transparency screens. Users were guided through each type of data being collected and asked whether they would allow it. Testing helped me see which wording was confusing and where I needed stronger visual cues. Overall, players understood the flow and appreciated having clearer choices, which confirmed the redesign direction was effective.

Emoticon Score Test
To evaluate how users felt about the new data transparency feature, I used the emoticon score test where participants rated the experience from “Worst” to “Excellent.” The results were very positive! 50% of users rated it Good, and 40% rated it Average, while 10% selected Excellent. No one reported a negative experience.

Mid-Fidelity Wireframes
I created mid-fidelity wireframes to refine the layout, flow, and interaction of the data transparency feature inside Among Us. These screens focused on structure rather than visual style, allowing me to test how users navigated through the consent process step-by-step.
